Brand strategy and identity for new clean beauty business.
Launching in a crowded market, Anara Skincare were looking to establish a brand position that was distinctive from the competition, with strong, discernible points of difference.
With a mission to create a joyful, sensory experience that delivers excellent skin results, Anara Skincare’s founder Arati Nar was clear on her brief from day one. It was imperative to Arati that the branding and packaging should reflect the fine quality of the formulations that she had spent years developing, as well as her long and very personal journey to bring her life-long dream to reality. The brand identity and marketing needed to be true to Arati’s original motivation and vision for the future of the brand, to truly create a unique standpoint.
We worked with Arati to thoughtfully develop an identity that had visual stand-out, whilst also being authentic to Anara’s points of difference. As the soul of the brand, the logo includes a wordmark and emblem created from a combination of hearts, diamonds, and stars, all with personal significance and resonance for Arati.
When developing the Anara Skincare packaging, creating a luxurious look and feel was as important as communicating the key skin benefits, hero ingredients and industry accreditations. This was balanced alongside clear presentation of practical information on usage and allergens. Legibility and ease of use for the consumer were key criteria within the brief. It is with great pride that the packaging went on to win a Bronze award in the 2024 Free From Skincare Labelling Awards.
Anara Skincare was launched online in September 2023 with an e-commerce store that we designed in partnership with Arati.
‘Simplicity’ was the mantra for every part of the consumer experience, on each page of the site. Ensuring visitors easily find their way to key information is imperative, whilst also creating a luxurious, engaging, informative, and enjoyable journey through the Anara world. The site was designed to ensure visitors could engage at different levels and to different depths, steering them through the site with intuitive functionality.
Winning a Silver award in the 2024 Free From Skincare Digital Presence Awards, the website was described as ‘…aesthetically pleasing with a colour scheme that aligns with the brand colours. The layout is attractive and easy to navigate.’
As I embarked on the journey to fulfil my life-long dream to create my own skincare brand, I was looking for someone to partner with who was not only an expert in branding and design but who also shared my passion and could work flexibly alongside me on this very special journey.
